This is the middle of our trip out to Montana sorry I forgot to start taking photos...guess I was jus so excited to be on vacation....so...this is in the Bad Land's
of North Dakota...pretty!!! Well not really in the middle it was on the way out there anyway....
Pretty "BIG" fella huh!!! Wowsers, is all I can say!!!
And he had friends! These "BIG" boys thought they owned the Way Side Rest
till Randy drove by them anyway...lol...
Then on to Montana...here is a resevoir at Fort Peck, MT....it was HUGE!!!
Pretty cool...they were working on it down below....
It was pretty foggy out at times...and raining so a good day for traveling for sure...
First we hit family and friends time at the bar...yeah...we had a BLAST!!!!!
Thanks Francis for supper!!! Once again I forgot to take photos cause we were havin so much fun!!!
Then off to Harlem to the ranch for the weekend!!
Harlem has a really nice sign coming into town.
Then to get groceries and off to the ranch with the crew....
Here is the crew...it looks like we are missing someone so here is another photo and you tell me who we are missing...lol...
And we are also missing Donny he had to go back and work in the feilds sorry Donny we did miss you out there!!!
Here are the only girls on the ranch at round up time...we had such fun!!
Connie, Cathy and myself.
We even got the 6 wheeler stuck really good...good enough we had to have the guys come and pull us out from their prairie dog hunt, lol...had lots of giggles though!!!
These photos are after we had gotten out already.
Out on a 4 wheelin ride!!
These badgers need to leave the ranch or the cows step in their holes and break legs or worse...
A little couple fun!! Gotta cuddly on the ranch too you know...
Ray and Connie too!!
We went out fencing and had a great time working!!!
The fence line you see seems to go on and on and on...and that is the whole line we fenced.
That is the ranch it is HUGE!!! And you can see it goes both ways like that.
Finally a corner, lol...and the next side was already done we just had to check to make sure it was still up and working so the cows could go back out there...
There are LOTS of coulies to go around or thru to get to the fencing...and they are deep sometimes....
Here is Randy having fun in a coulie
This is a Eagle's nest that looks like it is right next to you when you are driving by it...but then look at photos of how deeeep it is to the bottom of that tree...lol...
And yeppers I drove the 6 wheeler down the farther part of that...and well then had to drive up it to get out...and wowsers, was that crazyyyyy!!!! But I made it!!!
This is how big the coulie is ....the is from the other side...big huh!! And you have to go around it to get to the other side to check the fences there too...and then to keep on a going. It is pretty out there!!!Now time to get to work!!! All the babies need to be separated from their mama to be branded, get their shots and banded if needed. Then they get to go back to mama till fall.
The guys had to try to fix a gate first that the bulls had bent. It worked too!!
Good job guys!
Then a little R & before the work really begins...Mark and Ray.
"Redneck" Beer can holder...this is great Donnie!!!
Really it doesn't pay to escape thru the shoot when it is open cause they are gonna catch ya buddy!!
There were a few that did this and had to be wrestled down then to get the work done...here is a video of one...
Hmmmm...nope thanks I will pass Francis! Cigars are just not
my thing...lol...
What did I tell you calves if you got out you would be caught...well here is another one...
Ray and Connie hard at work rounding up the calves to be sent down the shoot...of doom...
Those little guys did not want to go down there cause the ones that went there never came back...lol...
Then we looked out and a mama cow was down...we went to check on it and Crannie thought it was a gonner...but then....
It got up and seemed fine...weird though!!
Here is a pretty mean looking bull...but really did not seem to have much attitude that weekend so that was all good, lol...
Here is the prized steer...on the ranch...nice huh!
We all got a chance to brand a calf by ourselves...wowsers, that was wild!!! It went well for us all thank goodness!!!
There is the ranch brand.
Randy got to wrestle some down too!! It was great fun to see him enjoying himself!!!
My new boots!! I love them!!
Time to visit for a little bit!
Then we had dinner and some more hunting and off we went to see family for the night.
Then right back on the road for the long trip home.
Can't wait for next year!!! We had a grand time once again! Thank you!!
