The lake in our front yard...........

Normally we have a river in front of our home but the last week we have had a lake out there.    The river over flowed into our front yard so bad that their were only little islands out there for where the trees are.   Sorry for the bad photo but that is not the point in this post, lol,   what I want you to see is the were thewater is,  that is officially the RIVER! 

Now this is what it looks like....

This all happened in one night.   We went to bed on last Tuesday night and woke up on Wednesday morning to this................

Yep, you guessed it that is the dock.   Now to get to it you need to wade in about 100 feet of water that is anywhere from 2 inches deep to about 8 inches deep.   But the boys did not seem to care about that issue this weekend...

Duke on the other hand thought it was CRAZY to have to do that... as you can tell he was not the easiest to talk into checking out the dock...

Until Matt is did it for him...

Then he was just fine with the whole water on him idea...

Except when he got too close to the rivers edge then he was a little scared and thought he should stick by Matt, lol... poor boy.

Then the boys thought they should jump into the river.  Well, this is something they do every year earlier and earlier.   One year Kenny even did it on his birthday March 23rd.   Yes, there was still ice everywhere.  But the river was open and he could do it.   And that was when I had a horrible camera that he had to do it about 5 or 6 times until I finally got a shot of him in the river at all, lol.   He was a good sport about it though, lol.

And actually by this time Luke had already been in the water because he and Matt had a deal that if Luke rode his bike into the pond then Matt would let him use his TV, lol.... Here is a photo of the pond right about now, lol...

Yuck, yuck, yuck with pondweed and all in it!!!  Here is what you look like around the head when there is pondweed in the water you jump into...

It is GROSSSSS..............lol.


So then Kenny decided that he should jump in and check out the temp of the water himself, never mind his brother that was freezing already...

But he got out about as fast as he got in...

But he tried to run all the way to the house to try to hug his mom and this is what happens when you mess with mama....

And then you try to get up and still catch mama...

But mama is heading for the garage and locking the door, sorry buddy, but you are wet!!!!

This water is for the ducks and not boys!!!!  And they can have it!!!!  Duckweed and all!! Till the weather is about 75 degrees out anyway!!!
